: Today, I was looking at a building under construction with an architect named Kim, a sort of plain looking, but not unattractive asian woman. She was wearing jeans and black flats, with thin black socks. The path to the building was muddy so our construction workers had laid down wood planking over the muddy ground and snow.

: As we walked to the building, Kim stayed on the path because she was the only one not wearing boots. I asked her to look at a detail that was off the path and she reluctantly followed us, picking her way carefully. Finally, Kim missed a step and stepped in the mud sucking her shoe right off of her foot. Luckily, for her, her next step with her exposed sock was into the snow instead of the mud. With the aid of a foreman, she quickly retrieved her shoe, shook the snow off of her toes, and put it on.

: I thought the incident was over, but when we got inside the building, she removed her shoe and walked around for about 5 more minutes with one sock and one shoe, wiping mud off her other shoe with a paper towel. Her sock was jet black and opaque, but somewhat tansparent from getting wet in the snow. Her foot was tiny and really cute, short toes with no polish. She was a good sport and did not complain or seem embarrassed about losing the shoe, or walking around barefoot in front of a bunch of construction workers. I don't think she noticed me staring at her foot, and everybody else was looking anyway.

What a great story. I sure wish I could have been there
