: I'm just really upset that I can't seem to find a woman who dangles in pumps anymore. I have seen women wear high heel pumps, in restaurants, librarys and hotels but all they do these days is do some moves that make you try to believe that they are going to dangle; when they have their legs crossed, but usually nothing happens. It is so very frustrating that I might consider giving up on searching. Hey, I totally understand the frustration. I was just watching a woman at work this morning. Legs crossed, top leg swinging, ankle twisting. I thought, "10 years ago, that shoe would have been on the floor by now." I'm not positive about this, but I think that in the 80's, a lower-cut toe line was in fashion. In other words, the leather on the top of the toes now comes farther up the top of a woman's foot than it did in the 80's/early 90's. I think that's why dangling is so rare. The extra leather prevents the shoe from slipping off. It sucks, but remember that 70's styles remained all the rage up until 1983 or 1984. It takes 3-5 years for a new decade's styles to really emerge. Maybe by 2004 or so we'll see an improvement. In the meantime, join "dangling.com" It's excellent! Alan
