Hi. It is my opinion that this message board can no longer properly serve the needs of our community. As it stands we have
over 21,000 messages and that isn't counting all the posts that had to be deleted for a variety of reasons. In all
truth, the original version of this message board probably stopped serving our needs properly in 2000. I have made so many
modifications to it that I have lost track and nothing short of a full re-write would create something useful. The good news
is that one of the "hacks" was to install a blazing fast search mechanism which will preserve these messages for years
and years to come. THis way, not only will you be able to look through all the messages one by one through the links directly
above but you will also be able to serach them for keywords. It is also my sincere hope that youu will also embrace the new
message board and make it an even bigger wealth of information concerning our interest.
Most of the commercial message boards place too much emphasis on smiley faces and other extras that are
more cosmetic than functional. There are certain features that I will not compromise for smiley faces. If you know of a
good commercial or open source board with extremely strong admin functions please email me. I have already looked into UBB and
YABB and they simply do not have what is needed for a board of this nature. Perhaps I am wrong? If so, please let me
know. The closing of this board and subsequent replacement with a new more robust messaging system will also allow me to
focus on releasing new tapes and improving the overall quality of the site as opposed to spending so much time trying to
delete inappropriate posts.
That being said, I would also like to announce the release of LAH - 16 on 10/10/03
