I overheard a similar conversation not long ago on a computer show. Actually I tape recorded most of it - only it was not in English... - and so they did. Unfortunately nothing could be seen except for the signs of relief on their faces.
Here it is: Drop dead gorgeous lady #1: "Another 3 hours to go and my feet are on fire!" Ddg lady #2: "Yeah I know what you mean".
#1: "Your feet burning too?"
#2: "Not excactly..."
#1: "What do you mean not excactly?"
#2: "Well... more boiling I'd say"
#1 giggles.
#2: "Yeah you know it depends on the shoes. When I wear standard high heeled pumps, my feet burn, and when I wear these softer shoes, they get soooo hot and then my toes start sweating. I'm not quite sure what's the worst".
#1: "Right now I'd prefer anything to the fire under my soles!"
#2: "Yeah maybe so. My toes needs some air desperately. They're drowning!
Can't we take off our shoes for just a minute if we hide behind the counter?"
#1: "We'll have to keep lookout for the boss!"
