My girlfriend travelled to London for a job interview. Dressed in a short black pin stripped skirt suit, she wore ankle strap pumps and a black woollen coat that came down to her calf’s. Stepping off the train towards the platform she heard the left heel crack and she walked along the platform towards the station she felt the heel fall completely off of the shoe. Picking up the heel she continued down the platform, walking into the concourse she searched for a shoe repair stall, spotting one in the corner she hobbled over to it. Trying to walk in a straight line she reached the stall, unbuckling the shoe she handed it to the repair man and asked if he could fix it. The guy explained that it would take at least two hours to repair as the glue had to dry. My girlfriend was now sat at the high stools in front of the counter. Her heeled foot on the floor and her bear foot resting on the support bar. Explaining that she had an interview in less than and hour she asked if there were any shoe shops in the area. The guy shook his head, looking at the size of the shoes he disappeared into the back, returning with a pair of stiletto knee high boots. The man explained that the boots had been left for repair six months ago as no one had returned for them my girlfriend could have them for the cost of the heel repair. And they were her size, they may be just right. Handing my girlfriend the boots she unzipped one of the boots, noting the expensive design brand, she slipped her foot into the boot and zipped it up. The leather was extremely soft and the soles were made of leather and extremely worn, although extremely presentable. The man explained that the repair would cost £10 for the boots so she could have them for that. My girlfriend unbuckled her other shoe, slipped on the other boot, stood up and walked away from the counter they fitted her perfectly. Handing the man her other shoe, she paid the £10 for the boots. Heading for the interview the boots felt wonderful they were very worn, but the soft leather upper and sole moulded perfectly to her feet. After heading back from the interview collected her repaired shoes and headed home on the train. The boots are her favourite footwear and she wears them all the time, especially after they got her the job!!!!
