Not all women paint their toe nails. Why do we do it? Because wearing high heeled pointed-toe shoes makes a mess out of your feet and when you go bare or open toe you don't want to advertise the fact that your feet look like hell so we manicure and treat our feet to soothing warm water dips and massages to reduce the effects of these shoes.

We wear the shoes to impress, we "decorate" our feet to hide the horror of beauty. Trust me, we don't make our feet look nice to impress anyone. It's like trying to hide look decent when your body doesn't.

Now ankle bracelets are another story. Those are worn to intice or to attract your attention to your feet, especially when worn under nylons. That sends the more discreet message of teasing because we put it on intentionally before slipping into our stockings and we are non-verbally saying, "wouldn't you love to take this bracelet off?"

Now that's teasing. Putting nail polish was meant to cover up bad toe nails.
