This morning I overheard the following conversation between two ladies of about 30 years of age. We were waiting for the elevator of the office building we work in and they were standing just behind me. and there was the elevator and I had to leave this interesting conversation.
Lady 1: “Oh, I hate it when I miss my bus in the morning – because then I have to walk almost a mile to the railway station. My feet get so HOT and wet and sticky for the rest of the day!”
Lady 2: “Yeah, I know what you mean. But you are free to take off your shoes when you get to the office, aren’t you?”
Lady 1: “Sure, I could do that, but when my feet get sweaty they really stink, too. So it is a kind of vicious circle: Hot feet in the morning means no taking off the shoes during the day means even hotter and more sweaty feet…”
Lady 2: “I couldn’t keep my shoes on for a whole day – my feet would kill me”
