Last Friday nite I went to the local club with a bunch of friends. This place has a good rock and blues bands and cheap draft beer. In the group was Mary Ellen. she is always dipping, dangling or taking her shoes completely off. She always dances in her socks. The people in our group often take her shoes and hide them as a joke. Tonite she was sitting accross from me at the table. After a couple of beers, I noticed that she gave me a funny look. Shortly thereafter, I felt a socked foot slide over my left loafer and behind my foot. I looked at Mary Ellen and she smiled at me. At the same time I could feel that booth her feet we trying to slip my loafer off my foot. My loafer`s are old and stretched out. Now Mary Ellen and I are good buddies but I did not think that she wanted to play footsie with me. After I let her take my left loafer, she started to work on the right one. After a little struggle, I let her have it. A couple of minutes later, she accused me lf taking her shoes when she had to walk thru the mud. She also said that her clogs were now missing and again accused me of taking them. Actually, Sara who as sitting on Mary Ellen`s right had taken her shoes. I told Mary Ellen that I would help her get back her shoes. But since the band was playing, I waid we should dance first. Once we hit the dance floor the other people at the table also got up and started dancing. At this point I went back to the table and Mary Ellen and I crawled uner the table to look for her shoes. We found them hidden under Sara`s jacket. The next time Sara takes off her shoes Mary Ellen will get revenge.
Well, tonite Mary Ellen was wearing clogs and thick white socks. The last time the goup had gotten together on a Friday nite, somebody had taken Mary Ellen`s shoes and did not give them back to her until she had walked thru the muddy parking lot. She usually takes these jokes in stride but I guess she did not like walking thru the mud in a new pair of white socks.
